Library Overview

The Library Services Department manages and provides seamless access to both print and online scholarly information; offers reference services, research assistance, and information literacy instruction; provides excellent facility and equipment. Licensed, professional, and computer-savvy Librarians are always ready to assist library users.

Considered as an extension of the classroom, it features a rich source of reference materials that supplement prescribed textbooks and lectures, including books, journals, and periodicals, as well as online supplements like online journals, e-books, and audiovisual materials.

General Objectives


The Library assists its clientele, especially the students, in their academic and personal development through the provisions of updated references and exceptional services to improve the efficiency of their participation in the attainment of the institutional mission and objectives.

Mission

The Library Services Department supports the academic, scholarly and research-oriented mission of Adamson University by providing a dynamic and collaborative learning space, facilitating access to information services and resources, and fostering life-long learning and research though innovative and flexible library services.

Vision

The Library sees itself as a recognized accessible and exceptional center of learning and research by delivering innovative services and outstanding array of resources to support the classroom and research needs of the academic community.

Specific Objectives

Specifically it seeks to:


  • Develop an adequate and relevant collection of material resources, books, periodicals and non-book materials appropriate to each level of the instructional program and to the needs of research.
  • Develop a broad reference collection, which underscore Filipiniana and research resources as functional tool of scholarship.
  • Develop innovative approaches for the effective use of the above collections in support of the needs interest and concern of the students, faculty and Adamson University.
  • Provide library orientation session for freshmen classes / new students and transferees, as well as give information literacy instructions/sessions to students, faculty and staff.
  • Organize library committee in every academic Department and College.
