What is it about Adamson University’s Patron Saint, St. Vincent De Paul, that inspires this unique Klasmeyt Culture?

St. Vincent De Paul is the patron saint of charities, having established the Ladies of Charity and Congregation of the Mission; and together with St. Louise de Marillac, established the Daughters of Charity. However, it is his spirit of inclusion and non-judgment when administering good works which has undoubtedly inspired the Klasmeyt Culture in Adamson University.

It is a culture that knows no bounds, where diversity is not just acknowledged but celebrated, where differences are seen as strengths, and where everyone is welcomed with open arms. The Klasmeyt Culture is not confined to the Adamson campus; it is a movement to be shared with the world. It's about recognizing the inherent worth and dignity of every individual and extending a hand of friendship, support, and acceptance.

The word “Klasmeyt” is a Tagalized transliteration of the English word “Classmate” (in Filipino: Kamag-aral), which refers to a “member of the same class in a school or college” (Merriam-Webster). The word fosters an immediate feeling of belongingness. However, the Adamsonian “Klasmeyt” transcends this idea and encapsulates a profound sense of belonging, acceptance, and interconnectedness.

In other words, Klasmeyt is not a generic term but a specialized term of endearment to describe someone whose life has been touched and changed for the better by someone connected to Adamson University.
