It’s literally music to the Adamson community’s ears.
The Adamson University Chorale surprised everyone when it bagged the Championship trophy and the additional award of being the Best Show Choir in the Manila Broadcasting Corporation National Choral Competition (Open Category) held at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City last December 8, 2018. Its winning repertoire included Alleluia by Moy Ortiz, Mate Saule by Peteris Vasks and We Will Rock the Rhapsody, a fusion of Queen’s We Will Rock You and Bohemian Rhapsody arranged by Mr. Arnel De Pano. The Queen medley rocked the stage and sent the audience clapping and stomping to the beat of the songs.
Prior to this victory, the chorale vied for a semifinal slot on December 4, 2018 and got qualified to enter the finals. They sang Alleluia by Moy Ortiz, Anoj Pusej - a Lithuanian folk song that has become a choir favorite, and We Will Rock the Rhapsody.
Garnering the second place was the Philippine Normal University Chorale while the third place went to the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) Choral Society. The choir from St. Scholastica Academy-Marikina got the fourth place.
