The Lady Falcons’ frontline duo is heading to the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), as middle blockers Mayang Nuique and Jen Villegas were both selected in the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft held over the weekend.

Nuique, who returned to her original position as an opposite spiker in UAAP 87, was selected 13th overall by the NXLED Chameleons.

Known for her versatility and grit, the 5-foot-10 standout averaged 10.2 points per game, contributing 1.2 blocks and 1.1 aces per outing. Her ability to switch roles and deliver under pressure made her a crucial piece in head coach JP Yude’s rotation.

Nuique was also a symbol of loyalty, staying with the Lady Falcons after her stint with Adamson’s Girls’ Volleyball Team.

Villegas, a steady presence in the middle position, went 19th overall to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.

She was a reliable presence in the net amid the Shaina Nitura-propelled offense, posting 8.6 points per game this season while providing 1.5 digs and consistent net coverage. Her timing and court discipline were key factors in Adamson’s ability to hold off opponents in tight sets.

Their selections reflect the continued development of Adamson’s volleyball program, which has seen a resurgence in recent years.

With professional contracts now on the horizon, Nuique and Villegas will look to bring their talents to a bigger stage as they join the ranks of the country’s top-tier volleyball athletes.
