Recognizing the vital role of innovation in driving social and economic progress, Adamson University underscored the importance of intellectual property as a catalyst for development during its “Under the Tree: Celebrating Innovation Through Intellectual Property and Music” event held April 21 morning at the San Vicente Garden Cafe.
With the theme “Feel the Beat of IP: Intellectual Property and Music,” the event underscored the deep interconnection between artistic expression and technological advancement.
Just as music resonates universally, innovation—anchored in intellectual property—transcends boundaries, offering real-world solutions to everyday challenges.
The celebration spotlighted breakthroughs in industrial design, utility models, and invention patents, showcasing the practical value of Filipino ingenuity.
Among the featured innovations were a valve controller for LPG tanks, a handheld communication device for the deafblind, a composting monitoring system, and an anti-theft security model for bicycles, techs that serve as proof that “innovation thrives where creativity meets purpose.”
A milestone was also marked as the university awarded its first letters patent certificate for a novel method of preparing instant herbal tea, symbolizing a growing culture of research-driven enterprise within the academic community.
Beyond the awards, the program sent a strong message in nurturing intellectual property and its significance to national development.
Acknowledging budding inventors and creators, Adamson University, through ITSO and AdUNEST, continues to promote a culture where innovation is not only celebrated but also strategically guided to create lasting social impact.
As echoed in the program’s closing message, innovation, like music, is limitless, and every idea has the power to compose the next great movement toward a better future.
