BA conducts benchmarking visit in top Malaysia schools

The College of Business Administration (CBA) of Adamson University conducted a benchmarking visit to top-ranking private universities in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 19-20, 2025, exploring global academic excellence. 

The delegation, composed of CBA Dean Dr. Ruben Nayve Jr. and CBA Chairpersons Ms. Marissa Babilonia (Accountancy), Mr. Michael Valdez (Customs Administration and Supply Chain Management), Dr. Emily Baluyot (Financial Management), Dr. Rodelo Salburo (Hospitality Management), and Dr. Amy Daraway (Marketing and Operations Management), explored best practices at QS-ranked institutions Taylor’s University (ranked 7th), UCSI University (ranked 9th), and Sunway University (ranked 17th). 

Gaining valuable insights, the benchmarking visit examined best practices in academic standards, student outcomes, faculty engagement, and operational efficiency. Other areas of focus included research initiatives, knowledge exchange, access to resources, student satisfaction, retention and graduation rates, faculty training and mentorship programs, alumni engagement, and community extension efforts. 

Engagements with various university officials, including the Vice Chancellor for Academics and Internationalization, deans of Business and Hospitality Schools, program chairs, and other academic leaders, highlighted these crucial topics. 

The initiative provides a vital reference that improves the potential of enhancement in teaching and learning strategies, strengthens research activities, and improves alumni and community extension programs for Adamson’s CBA.  

Notable discussions also covered policies on Artificial Intelligence, micro-credentials, industry involvement, government regulatory frameworks, and QS ranking methodologies. 

This visit underscores Adamson University’s commitment to continuous improvement and international collaboration, ensuring that its academic programs remain globally competitive and aligned with evolving industry standards.
