Adamson’s Women’s Volleyball Team put an end to its four-game losing streak in dominant fashion, sweeping University of the East, 25-20, 25-12, 25-21, to open the second round of the UAAP 87 Women’s Volleyball Tournament on a high note Saturday, March 22, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The Lady Falcons displayed renewed focus after a string of frustrating losses in the first round, where they often came close but struggled to close out matches. This time, they refused to let the game slip away, overcoming an early deficit in the third set to secure their third win of the season and move ahead of Ateneo in the standings.
The JP Yude-mentored volleybelles’ balanced attack proved crucial, with Shaina Nitura, Mayang Nuique, and Barbie Jamili leading the way. Nitura, fresh off a historic 38-point performance against UP, once again paced the team with 18 points, while Nuique and Jamili combined for 20. The Lady Falcons also dominated on defense, with Jen Villegas and Eloi Dote stepping up in crucial moments to halt UE’s attempts at a comeback.
UE threatened to extend the match with a 16-12 advantage in the third set, but Adamson responded with six straight points to take control.
The Lady Warriors managed to tie the frame at 19-all before late-game heroics from Adamson sealed the win.
Building on a strong opening set, the Lady Falcons completely overpowered UE in the second, racing to a 17-7 lead and never looking back. In contrast to their first-round struggles, they showed composure in crucial moments, capitalizing on errors and stringing together decisive runs to avoid another collapse.
Adamson will look to sustain its momentum and strengthen its Final Four bid when it faces Ateneo on March 29 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
