Adamson University delivered a statement performance, pushing the defending champions, National University, to their limits before falling in a hard-fought five-setter, 25-20. 25-17, 18-25, 19-25, 12-15, in the UAAP 87 Men’s Volleyball Tournament, yesterday, March 12, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Facing the powerhouse Bulldogs, Adamson stormed to a commanding two-set lead behind the explosive performance of Jude Aguilar, who registered a career-high 26 points from 24 attacks and two aces.

Marc Paulino added 19 points while Leo Coguimbal anchored the defense with six blocks.

Despite Adamson’s early dominance, NU found its rhythm in the third set, capitalizing on key adjustments. The match remained tight until the deciding set, where the Soaring Falcons fought tooth and nail, staying level at 10-all before NU pulled away in the final stretch.

Setter Ronn Domingo orchestrated Adamson’s offense with 21 excellent sets, while also chipping in six points.

Although Adamson dropped to 1-5 in the standings, the team's inspired play sets the stage for a strong finish in the first round. The Falcons look to bounce back and gain momentum when they take on the University of the Philippines on Saturday, March 15, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
