The College of Engineering (CoE) held the Peregrines' Fledging send-off ceremony, to celebrate the achievements of its graduating students. The ceremony, themed "CoE Graduates' First Flight to Success and Glory," was held this February 13 and was attended by faculty members, students, and their families.
A traditional hooding ceremony, where faculty members and program chairpersons conferred academic hoods upon the graduates bannered the event. This symbolizes the students’ transition to professionals ready to contribute to society.
Another significant moment of the ceremony was the awarding of Leadership and Model Student Awards, recognizing outstanding students who have exemplified excellence in academics, leadership, and service in their respective degree programs.
The event commenced with the solemn procession of graduating students from various engineering disciplines, including Chemical Engineering (ChE), Computer Engineering (CpE), Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Industrial Engineering (IE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Mining Engineering, Geology, and Petroleum Engineering (PetE).
Dr. Yolanda Austria, Chairperson of the CpE Department, delivered the welcome remarks, setting an inspiring tone for the occasion.
Key messages were also shared by Dr. Merlinda Palencia, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Dr. Rosula S.J. Reyes, Vice President for Academic Affairs, highlighting the perseverance and dedication of the graduates in achieving this milestone.
Engr. Jerry Olay, Chairperson of the ChE Department, delivered the closing remarks, encouraging the graduates to uphold the Vincentian values instilled in them as they embark on their careers.
The event concluded with the singing of the Adamson University Alumni Hymn.
Adding to the celebration, each program hosted parallel activities titled "Tapestry of Memories," "Pamana of Graduates," and "Alumni Welcome," featuring fun surprises and nostalgic moments for the graduates.
