Adamson secures industrial design Registration for new PWD tech

The University has received an Industrial Design Registration for its Handheld Communication Device for the Deafblind from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) under Registration No. 3/2024/051044.

Developed by Industrial Engineering students Earl Goyal, Joshua Oliva, Ronnel Dela Cruz, and Sheila Mae Carungay, the device aims to assist individuals with hearing and visual impairments by providing an accessible communication tool.
The newly registered design enhances the institution's efforts in fostering innovation, granting Adamson University the exclusive right to restrain or prohibit unauthorized use, production, and distribution of the device.
Published on October 11, 2024, the registration will remain valid until August 8, 2029.
The Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) facilitated the registratio, reinforcing Adamson’s commitment to technological advancement and assistive innovation.
