The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) initiated a key action to expand the university's potential partnership with the Embassy of France through a visit from French dignitaries on December 2 at the Co Po Ty Audio Visual Hall.

Mr. Adam Folleas, Officer for Higher Education and French Language at the French Embassy, Mr. Victor, Petit Deputy Director and Academic Director of Alliance Française De Manille, and Mr. Paulo Udani, Officer for Communication and Education from Campus France, discussed academic opportunities in France, such as study and scholarship programs, enriching the educational experiences of students and faculty members abroad.

Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Rosula Reyes, emphasized that this student mobility opportunity with France is an undertaking that will help advance research, foster innovation, and improve engineering strategies in the University.

“I hope that we will be able to pursue the same levels of cooperation with the French embassy, starting with the exchange program on a scholarship basis [and] an exchange program between [our] university and other universities in France," Dr. Reyes remarked.

The program also aims to encourage students to take a step further in enriching their cultural awareness and exploring academic opportunities.

“There's a lot of opportunities that we can have in France,” Dr. Reyes added, pointing out various opportunities that Filipino students have taken.

Further, the event highlighted tailor-made assistance to students through French language lesson packages offered by the Alliance Française de Manille, which follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, an internationally recognized standard to describe the language proficiency.
