Rookie striker Roberto Roldan shone brightly for the Soaring Falcons as he led his club to close their UAAP Season 87 Collegiate Men’s Football Tournament campaign with a thrilling 2-1 victory over the University of the East, December 1 at the UP Diliman Football Field.

Roldan hit twice to lead Adamson to their third win of the season, opening the scoring in the 22nd minute after heading in a perfectly placed assist from Dexter Casing.

He then found the back of the net again in the 61st minute, to give the lead and the eventual victory to the San Marcelino-based squad.

In the post-game interview, Head Coach Darlton Digha commended the players for their effort, emphasizing that it was the team that ultimately delivered, also highlighting the chemistry and mentality that drove his wards to success.

The victory was a timely morale booster for the Falcons as they capped off the season with their third triumph.

The match also served as a fitting farewell for Adamson’s graduating players Omar Sabaulan, Ivan Francisco, Dexter Casing, and Edwin Doctora, who Coach Digha, expressed his hope to stay connected with the team, reflecting on their shared journey with the Falcons. Digha became teammates with the four during his playing years with Adamson.

The Red Warriors equalized briefly in the 34th minute with a goal from Jam Mariveles, but Adamson’s defense held strong in the second half, preventing further chances and securing the win.
