The Adamson Baby Falcons displayed grit and determination but fell short against the top-seeded University of Santo Tomas, 15-25, 19-25, 23-25, in the UAAP 87 Boys’ Volleyball Final Four on November 30 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Despite the straight-set loss, the Baby Falcons showed flashes of brilliance, particularly in the closely contested third set. Trailing 21-23, Adamson relied on the offensive efforts of Jims Ducusin, who finished with a match-high 16 points.
Last season’s Rookie of the Year, Juris Guevarra, also contributed five digs and seven excellent receptions.
The third set highlighted Adamson’s never-say-die spirit, as the team kept pace with UST’s firepower. However, reigning MVP Jancriz Ayco of UST proved too much to handle.
The Baby Falcons demonstrated growth and resilience throughout the season, earning valuable experience against top-tier opponents, while also showing excellent development that led them to a Final Four berth.
