Adamson University is proud to announce that Mark Joven Andales, a Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) student, successfully presented his research at the Talks, Research, Understanding, and Exchange International Conference (TRUE ICON) 2024 held at the University of the East - Caloocan on November 6.
The conference, with the theme "Adapting to the Changing Landscape toward the Post-Pandemic Era," brought together researchers, educators, and thought leaders to discuss innovative solutions and strategies for addressing the evolving challenges in education following the global pandemic.
Mark Joven Andales presented his research paper titled Perceptions on the Effects of Song Adoption in Teaching HEKASI (Heograpiya, Kasaysayan, at Sibika), a groundbreaking study that explores how integrating songs into the teaching of Social Studies can enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
His work examines the potential of music as an effective pedagogical tool in the classroom, particularly in subjects like HEKASI, which can often be perceived as complex and difficult for young learners to grasp.
The study offers a fresh perspective on how educators can creatively address the new challenges in the post-pandemic educational landscape. As schools continue to adapt to online learning and hybrid teaching methods, Andales' research highlights the importance of integrating multimedia tools, such as music, to make learning more dynamic and engaging.
The TRUE ICON 2024 conference provided a valuable platform for academic exchange, fostering lively discussions on how educational practices must evolve to meet the needs of students and teachers in this new era.
Andales’ participation at the event showcased his academic talents and reflected Adamson’s commitment to nurturing innovative thinkers and future educators who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to the field.
His study is also an important addition to the growing body of knowledge on creative and effective teaching strategies in the K-12 curriculum, underscoring the university’s focus on equipping its students with the tools and skills to become leaders in education and make a lasting impact in the classrooms of tomorrow.
