Falcons soar to success at Ormoc National Open

Adamson University’s badminton team recently made their mark at the Protech Piña Ormoc City Badminton National Open 2024, where they displayed incredible skill and determination, bringing home multiple medals and affirming their dominance in the sport. 

The Falcons emerged victorious across several categories, showcasing their versatility and strength in both singles and doubles competitions.  

The women’s team shone brightly, securing a sweep of the top four spots in the Women’s Singles Open. Khylle Marie Agura clinched the gold, while teammates Marriane Abbygail Barcelona and Key Aubrey Fuerte followed with silver and bronze, respectively. Aleyha Mae Villanueva also grabbed a bronze, making it a remarkable achievement for the Falcons in this event. 

In the doubles categories, the Adamson players continued their impressive performance. The duo of Gabrielle Ganoy and Noel Hernandez Jr. earned a bronze in the Men’s Doubles Open, while the Women’s Doubles Open saw Camille Kaye Buagas and Graziel Cabriga take home a bronze, as well as the pair of Marriane Abbygail Barcelona and Khylle Marie Agura. 

The mixed doubles events proved equally successful, with Graziel Cabriga and Noel Hernandez Jr. securing a silver medal. Meanwhile, Jennifer Andrea Ondol and Heaven Linaban, along with Camille Kaye Buagas and Gabrielle Ganoy, each bagged a bronze in the Mixed Doubles Open. 

The Level C-D category also saw success for Adamson’s Coach David Libanan, who teamed up with former AdU Badminton Team player, EJ Viloria, to claim the gold.
