Adamson put up a determined fight against the University of the Philippines (UP) in their UAAP Season 87 Collegiate Men’s Basketball game, but a late-game scoring run by the Fighting Maroons saw the Soaring Falcons fall, 59-70, on October 27 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

AJ Fransman’s floater and Jhon Calisay’s triple brought Adamson within striking distance at 57-58 with 3:48 left, sparking hope for a comeback.

However, UP surged in the final minutes, scoring 12 unanswered points that ultimately sealed the game in their favor. Adamson's defense held strong for much of the match, but UP’s clutch plays down the stretch proved too much to overcome.

Adamson’s season-high 28 turnovers also did not help for their cause.

Mathew Montebon led the Falcons, tallying 14 points and five rebounds, while Fransman added 13 points and five rebounds.

Cedrick Manzano also chipped in 12 points and six boards, as the Falcons continued to show flashes of resilience despite recent struggles.

Adamson will look to avenge their heartbreak in round 1 and end thier skid as they go against University of the East on October 30 at in the same venue. Reports from UAAP Media Team
