Adamson Men’s and Women’s Badminton Teams concluded their season with valiant efforts at the Rizal Memorial Badminton Hall, remaining defiant as they deliver competitive matches against respective opponents.
The men’s team took on De La Salle University last October 26, ending up in a 1-4 setback highlighted by Gabriel Ganoy and Noel Hernandez victory for Adamson, seizing a thrilling three-set win over La Salle’s Joshua Morada and Yuan Tan, 21-18, 13-21, 21-13 to fend off La Salle’s clean sweep attempt.
Adamson then faced Final Four-vying University of the Philippines the following day. In a gripping doubles rubber, Julius Fontanilla and Nathaniel Acedillo delivered an inspired 21-14, 5-21, 21-16 win over Johann Abinales and Charles Alcarpio.
Meanwhile, the Lady Falcons displayed similar resilience in their October 26 matchup against De La Salle despite going down, 0-5. In an intense first doubles tie, promising rookie Abbygail Barcelona and Justine Barsona fought through a hard-fought three-set battle, but were eventually narrowly edged out by the Taft-based school’s Mia Manguilimotan and Via Antonio, 14-21, 21-17, 21-19, after a 69-minute contest.
In their season’s final matchup on October 27, the Lady Falcons took on second-seeded National University. Barcelona capped off the day with a 21-18, 21-19 victory over Tia Bualat, providing a silver lining to the Falcons season.
