Adamson’s Men's Chess Team achieved a breakthrough by securing their first point of the season with a hard-fought 2-2 tie against De La Salle University at the Adamson University Gym.

John Rocel Simon and Dustin Mackenzie were key players for the Falcons, each earning victories on Boards 3 and 4, respectively. Simon triumphed over Daniel John Lemi, while Mackenzie bested John Lance Valencia.

However, the day had its challenges. On Board 1, Cyril Telesforo of De La Salle defeated Adamson's Vince Arellano, and Angele Biete overcame Joshua Roque on Board 2, resulting in a balanced match that ultimately ended in a tie.

In the women’s division, the Adamson Lady Falcons faced a tougher opponent in the National University Lady Bulldogs, suffering a 3-1 defeat.

The Lady Bulldogs rebounded impressively from a prior loss, with standout performances from Woman FIDE Master Allaney Doroy, Queen Rose Pamplona, and Natasja Balabbo. They also secured wins against Angela San Luis, Christine Hernandez, and Mariane Flora on Boards 1, 2, and 3, respectively.

Despite the loss, Adamson's Phoebie Arellano showcased her resilience by preventing a shutout with a win over Princess Ballete on Board 4.
