Falcons fall to Bulldogs in tough UAAP badminton matchup

Adamson’s Falcon Shuttlers faced a challenging matchup against the National University Bulldogs, suffering a 0-5 defeat that dashed their hopes of advancing in UAAP 87 Men’s Badminton Tournament playoffs, October 19 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum Badminton Hall.
Despite the loss, the Falcons showed grit and determination, competing against one of the league’s top teams.
In the doubles match, Adamson's pairing of Gabriel Ganoy and Matt Leda took on the duo of Solomon Padiz Jr. and Jeno Cariño. The Bulldogs' experience shone through, as they took the match, 21-7 and 21-14, handing the Falcons a tough start.
The earlier singles matches set a challenging tone for the Falcons. Lanz Zafra's dominant performance against Heaven Linaban (21-4, 21-12) and Mark Anthony Velasco's quick victory over Kyrie Roldan (21-12, 21-5) left little room for error.
The debut pairing of Nestojan Tapales and John Benedict Gam delivered a solid win against Adamson’s Julius Fontanilla and Noel Hernandez (21-15, 21-9), further solidifying the Bulldogs' momentum.
MJ Perez rounded out the day with a hard-fought victory against Nathan Acedillo, ending with scores of 21-18, 21-16.
