Adamson’s very own Abrhael Basibas, together with his teammates from SEDS Philippines, secured a prestigious 3rd place finish in the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) Education & Professional Development ACHIEVED Competition, held in Milan, Italy, on October 13, 2024.
Team Paliyama, composed of Basibas, Iyarra Subade and Carl Anthony Sta. Ana (Batangas State University) and Yuan Yancey Labay (De La Salle University-Dasmariñas) were the sole Philippine representatives in the global competition.
The team stood out among 12 groups worldwide by tackling one of the proposed challenges centered on the theme "Responsible Space for Sustainability," a focus that aligns with the IAC24 topic.
Participants in the competition were given the opportunity to present innovative solutions to technical experts. Team Paliyama earned a spot on the podium with their exceptional contribution to the challenge.
The ACHIEVED competition, which aimed to foster education and professional development, gathered students and young professionals from around the globe to collaborate on solutions for a more sustainable future in space.
