Adamson University retained its Autonomous Status, as granted under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 7, Series of 2024, signed last September 16.
This distinction, which is valid from September 2024 to September 2027, places Adamson among 76 other private higher education institutions (HEIs) in the country,
According to CHED Memorandum Order No. 6, Series of 2023, the policies governing the grant of autonomous and deregulated status highlight their significance in the academic sector; institutions with autonomous and deregulated institutions enjoy more independence in decision-making, which allows them to refine curricula and manage resources.
With such status, the University can design its academic programs at the undergraduate level, make tuition fee adjustments, and grant honorary degrees to deserving individuals under existing CHED policies. AdU is also exempt from the issuance of Special Orders for graduates and from regular CHED monitoring.
Adamson will also be prioritized in granting CHED subsidies, financial assistance, and support for international linkages, among other benefits.
