A third quarter collapse pushed the Baby Falcons to their second defeat in the UAAP 87 Junior High School Basketball Tournament, falling to De La Salle-Zobel, 82-97, today, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Adamson kept it at bay early in the game, going toe-to-toe with the Junior Archers who are fresh off a monumental upset over reigning titlist National University- Nazareth School.

The San Marcelino squad managed to end the first half with the score knotted at 36 apiece.

Zobel, however, unleashed a scoring barrage in the third frame, posting a 35-18 scoring total en route to a 17-point lead.

The Alex Barrera-mentored squad tried to catch their foes in the fourth, but the gap proved too much.

Dan Damian top-scored for the San Marcelino crew with 19 points, followed by Chrys Gomez who tallied 16 markers. Khyian Jordan and Keefe Iledan also contributed 13 points apiece.

Prince Banate, meanwhile, posted a 10-point, 15-rebound double double.

The Baby Falcons next face UST this Sunday at the Adamson University Gymnasium.
