The University’s Badminton Team secured achievements in multiple competitions around the country as they build up for their UAAP 87 campaign.

The team recently bagged a Bronze Medal at the Philippine Inter-Collegiate Badminton Championships 2024.

The San Marcelino-based squad ruled over Lyceum of the Philippines University (3-2) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (4-1) as they showcased strong performances in the group Stage.

The Falcons, though, dropped their match against fellow UAAP campaigners and defending champions, University of the Philippines, in the league semi-finals.

Just last August, the team also had success in the PROTECH 2024 Open Badminton Tournament, with incoming rookie Abbygail Barcelona earning a Silver Medal in the Women’s Singles Open and Camille Buagas and Graziel Cabriga claiming the Bronze Medal in Women’s Doubles Open.

In July, Barcelona also shone at the Palarong Pambansa 2024 in Cebu City, securing a Gold Medal in Singles and a Silver Medal in Mixed Doubles. Two other incoming Falcon rookies—Jennifer Ondol and Aleyha Villanueva— competed in the same Palaro event.

The UAAP 87 Badminton Tournament is expected to be held this October.
