Adamson University marked a historic commitment day with the "Araw ng Pagtatalaga" on August 12, a ceremony where the entire Adamson community, especially its employees, pledged their dedication to the University's Vincentian mission.

This inaugural event, steeped in symbolic rites and cultural expressions, underscored the collective responsibility of every member of the Adamson workforce to uphold and advance the institution's values.

During the ceremony, Adamson's seventh president, Fr. Daniel Franklin Pilario, CM, also formally took his oath of office alongside new University administrators.

The day began with an enculturated Mass of the Holy Spirit at the San Vicente de Paul Parish – Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Clad in traditional Filipiniana attire, attendees participated in a liturgy featuring cultural presentations and a liturgical dance by the AdU Dance Company Folk, highlighting the University's commitment to honoring its diverse cultural heritage.

Fr. Peter M. Solis, CM, Provincial Visitor of the CM Philippine Province, presided over the Mass, where the Prayers of the Faithful were offered in various Filipino languages, symbolizing the unity and diversity of the Adamson community.

The central highlight of the day was the Rite of Commitment, during which Adamson University employees pledged their dedication to the institution and its mission. This ceremony emphasized the vital role of every employee in fostering a supportive and mission-driven environment.

Another significant moment of the day was Fr. Pilario's Oath of Office ceremony, where the former Saint Vincent School of Theology Dean was installed as the top official of AdU for a four-year term.

Fr. Solis, who also serves as the Chairman of Adamson's Board of Trustees, administered the oath to Fr. Pilario. In a solemn moment, the new president received the Presidential Medallion and Presidential Mace from former AdU presidents Fr. Rolando Dela Goza, CM, and Fr. Jimmy Belita, CM.

In his inaugural address, Fr. Pilario expressed gratitude and outlined his vision for the University, emphasizing the need to strengthen Adamson University's Vincentian identity while adapting to the demands of an evolving educational landscape.

He also explained why he opted for such an event rather than an investiture, which has become a common practice for the University.

“Araw ito ng pagtatalaga. Pagtatalaga nating lahat. Pagtatalaga upang maglingkod. Yan ang sasabihin ng mga manunumpa mamaya simula sa akin, hanggang sa mga kinatawan ng ating komunidad,” Fr. Pilario said.

He also led the oathtaking of the new Vice President for Student Affairs, Fr. Aldrin Suan, CM, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Rosula Reyes, and other new administrators, marking the start of a new chapter in the University's leadership.

The day's activities capped off with a dinner at the ST Quadrangle that featured a ceremonial toast led by Engr. Ibrahim Nuño, President of the Adamson University Alumni Association, capped off the activities.
