Adamson celebrates students’ achievements, strengthens ties with MUST anew

Adamson administrators showed their support for Adamsonians under the College of Engineering’s dual degree program in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, actively participating in key academic events at Minghsin University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Hsinchu, Taiwan last June 14 and 15.  

Led by University President Fr. Daniel Franklin Pilario, CM, the visit included attending the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation Ceremony for the ME Dual Degree Program students and engaging in the MUST Intense Program. 

The delegation consisted of Fr. Pilario; Engr. Merlinda Palencia, Dean of the College of Engineering; Engr. Lester Olasiman, Chair of the ME Department; and Sr. Maruja Padre Juan, MSCS Director of the Office for University Relations.  

The said Adamson representatives were involved in the Baccalaureate Mass, Graduation Ceremony, and meetings with MUST officials, reflecting their dedication to fostering international academic relations and collaboration. 

In addition, Engr. Jerry Olay, Chairperson of the Chemical Engineering Department; Engr. Maida de la Cuevas faculty member of the Industrial Engineering Department; and Engr. Edward de Castro faculty member of the Electrical Engineering Department participated in the MUST Intense Program.  

The Adamson delegation then joined the interdisciplinary graduation ceremony at MUST, held in the university's grand auditorium last June 15. Several students were also honored with special awards for their outstanding academic performance and contributions to the university community, filling the atmosphere with pride and joy. 

They also attended the graduation ceremony for the fifth batch of ME Mechatronics Dual Degree Program students, which featured six graduates.  

The ceremony also included the signing of the renewal of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the ME Mechatronics Dual Degree Program, underscoring the continuous collaboration between AdU and MUST. 

During the ceremony, both Fr. Pilario and the President Dr. Kuo-Wei Liu of MUST delivered short messages to the graduates, emphasizing the collaborative nature of their education and the international recognition of their qualifications.
