Adamson, Indonesia U discuss international collaborations in recent meeting

The University and Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) – Indonesia continued their exchanges for potential ties, June 4 at the ninth floor of the Dr. Carlos Tiu Building.
The dialogue marked a significant step in fostering international academic partnerships featuring two prominent figures of UMN -- Ms. Ika Yanuarti, Vice Rector for Student Affairs, and Dr. Friska Natalia, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs -- discussed a range of collaborative opportunities in a meeting organized and facilitated by the Office for University Relations – International Linkages and Global Engagement.
Dr. Venusmar Quevedo, Vice President for Administrative Affairs; Engr. Noe Enriquez, Director for Institutional Planning and Policy Development; Architecture Dean Ar. Sylvester Shaun Seno; faculty member Ar. Robert Duran; IT & IS Chair Ms. Marvi Aresta-Bayrante; faculty member Dr. Leo Alejandro; and Computer Science Chair Ms. Ma. Christina Navarro, meanwhile, represented Adamson.
The meeting was an avenue to build on previous discussions between the two institutions and to chart new directions for collaboration. Key topics on the agenda included the continuation and expansion of student-faculty exchange programs, joint initiatives in green architecture, advancements in information technology, and the integration and implementation of data and information systems.
A significant portion of the dialogue focused on aligning collaborative efforts with sustainable development goals, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing global challenges through education.
Ms. Yanuarti and Dr. Natalia highlighted the importance of such collaborations in enhancing the academic and cultural experiences of students and faculty alike, also emphasizing the potential for joint research initiatives and the development of innovative educational programs.
Dr. Venusmar Quevedo, on the other hand, underscored the University's commitment to international partnerships, highlighting potential ties in technopreneurship and innovation-related endeavors.
A timely discussion on green architecture was also mentioned, given the increasing global emphasis on sustainability. Dean Ar. Sylvester Shaun Seno shared insights into Adamson's ongoing projects in this field, proposing potential areas for joint research and development, including potential integration of sustainable practices into architectural education and practice and identifying key areas where both institutions could contribute significantly.
Information technology and data systems were also major topics of interest. Ms. Marvi Aresta-Bayrante and Dr. Leo Alejandro from Adamson’s IT & IS and Ms. Ma. Christina Navarro from the Computer Science Department discussed the latest trends and innovations in their respective fields and explored possibilities for collaborative projects that could leverage the strengths of both institutions, such as improving data analytics capabilities.
Both Adamson and UMN expressed strong commitment to translating their discussions into concrete actions. Follow-up meetings and detailed planning sessions are expected in the coming months to finalize the specifics of these collaborative initiatives.
