Adamson strengthens partnerships, showcases research skills in Malaysia trip

The Adamson University delegation, in its fifth day in Malaysia, solidified ties with the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), highlighting the potential for collaboration between the two institutions, April 25.
The visit to APU underscored the significance of robust academic relationships, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on March 21, 2024.
Despite the brief period since the MOU signing, the burgeoning bond between Adamson University and APU was palpable, setting the stage for joint initiatives in innovation, faculty and student exchange, mobility, and knowledge sharing. This visit marked a pivotal moment in the partnership's trajectory, laying the groundwork for future endeavors.
The AdU delegation also made significant contributions at the 8th Regional Conference on Campus Sustainability 2024 (8RCCS) hosted by Universiti Malaysia Sabah from April 24 to April 26.
Led by AdU President Fr. Daniel Franklin E. Pilario, CM, the delegation comprised esteemed faculty members and students from various departments, including Engineering and Business Administration.
The conference, organized by Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Adamson University, and the National Institute of Technology, Fukushima College (Japan), attracted luminaries from diverse fields, both onsite and online, from Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, Norway, and China. It served as a productive platform for the exchange and dissemination of ideas aimed at enhancing campus sustainability and fostering leadership in sustainability.
Among the notable achievements by the Adamson University delegation was the recognition of exemplary research contributions.
Engr. Yolanda Austria from the Computer Engineering Department presented "A Disinfectant Waste Segregator using Machine Learning," alongside co-authors Majelyn Mhae Enerio, Donna Mae Fajardo, Jovian Asher Parco, Edward Jaseph Vergara, and Engr. Ma. Concepcion Mirabueno, which won the Best Paper award.
Engr. Hubert Temprosa from the Computer Engineering Department presented "Traffic Violation and Apprehension Ticketing System and Device," and Mr. Adrian Raymund Fernandez from the Mining Engineering and Geology Department presented "Assessment of Shoreline Changes and Coastal Geomorphology in General Nakar and Infanta, Quezon using Geographic Information System Techniques," both earning them the title of Best Presenters.
Additionally, Engr. Lester Alfred Olasiman from the Mechanical Engineering Department showcased his research titled "Design of Solar Power for Ozanam Building at Adamson University." Engr. Dexter Lyndon Sabusap from the Mechanical Engineering Department presented "Oil Sorbent Processed from Waste Cabin Air Filter," winning the Best Poster award.
The participation of the AdU delegation in the conference garnered praise and recognition, reflecting the University's commitment to academic excellence and research innovation.
