The Lady Falcons end their six-game slump after a hard earned come-from-behind victory over University of the Philippines, 25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 25 - 23, 15 - 13, in the UAAP 86 Women's Volleyball Tournament held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, yesterday.
Adamson was down 20-22 late in the fourth set when head coach JP Yude called a time out that served as wakeup call for the San Marcelino-based volleybelles, leading them to steal the fourth set.
The fifth set, meanwhile, was a see-saw affair where both sides just traded points to a 13-all deadlock.
Abi Goc of UP then committed a crucial service error before Lady Falcons’ middle blocker Jen Villegas blocked Irah Jaboneta in the ensuing play to bag the game for the blue and white.
Barbie Jamili posted 16 points, 14 excellent receptions, and 11 digs to lead her team to a 3-8 record. Mayang Nuique also came up big with 15 points, while Villegas and Red Bascon chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Karen Verdeflor continued to live up to Adamson's defensive tradition with her own 25 digs and 15 receptions.
Adamson will next face defending champion De La Salle University at the SMART Araneta Coliseum this April 17.
