Falcons falter vs Ateneo in slugfest to start baseball second round

The Soaring Falcons fell short against a late onslaught from Ateneo de Manila University, 11-19, as they open the second round of the UAAP 86 Baseball Tournament held March 17 at the UP Diliman Baseball/Softball Field.
Adamson came out with a purpose, establishing an early 9-0 gap in the second inning. However, the seven errors and six bases on balls they committed through the game provided Ateneo with opportunities to stage their comeback and ultimately score a huge turnaround late in the match.
Ateneo scored 11 runs in the seventh and eighth innings, which sent the total runs scored by both teams to a season-high 30.
With the defeat, Adamson now holds a 2-5 card.
