Adamson University's Women's Volleyball team put up a valiant effort but ultimately succumbed to Ateneo de Manila University in a hard-fought 25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23 battle in the UAAP 86 Women’s Volleyball Tournament, held March 13 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The loss places Adamson University in a tie with Ateneo at the fifth and sixth spots in the tournament standings with both teams holding identical 2-4 records.

The match witnessed an exchange of momentum, with Ateneo seizing control in the first two sets of the game, punching through the Lady Falcons’ defense with powerful attacks.

Adamson, though, mounted a spirited comeback in the third set built around the strong play of Ishie Lalongisip. Their effort, though, fell short after Ateneo took over at the end of the fourth set.

Lucille Almonte, May Ann Nuique, and Rochelle Lalongisip displayed commendable performances, each contributing 11 points.

Adamson will face a daunting task in their final game round one game as they prepare to take on the unbeaten University of Santo Tomas this March 16 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
