The Cultural Affairs Office proudly hosted the launch of the highly anticipated art exhibition "Luwalhati," March 7, at the University Art Gallery.
The event marked the unveiling of artworks from 40 artist-members of Art Jam Manila.
“Luwalhati” will continue until April 15, 2024, featuring artworks available for purchase, with part of the proceeds supporting outreach programs of the University.
Fr. Rowen Carlos, CM, Director of Integrated Community Extension Services, graced the occasion with a warm welcome and opening remarks.
Mr. Joseph Duyan then provided insights into the exhibition, reflecting Art Jam’s mission.
“Sabi ko sa sarili ko, “Sayang ‘yung taong ‘yun, parang pinagkaitan ng tadhana,” he furthered, expressing his dismay of the boy’s fate, ending up as another case of a person who took his own life.
True to the theme of the exhibit, his message revolved around the essence of "Luwalhati," which explores life's realities and challenges, and aims to inspire kindness and goodness in all.

Mr. Duyan is also a co-academic staff at the Senior High School Department and faculty member of the National Service Training Program at AdU.
Mr. Jun Tayao, meanwhile, shared his thoughts, focusing on the realities of life, which has been the theme of his works, also recalling his various returns to Adamson, which happened to be his first school in college under the Architecture program.
The atmosphere was enriched with performances by the Adamson University Dance Company - Folk, the Minstrels of Hope Singers, and the Adamson University Chorale and Acoustic Band.
Laughter echoed through the halls as renowned Filipino Artist Comedian Herman Salvador Herman “Isko” Salvador, known in the entertainment industry as Brod Pete, regaled attendees with hilarious anecdotes.
Special recognition was also extended to Fr. Roland Tuazon, CM, Dean of St. Vincent School of Theology, Ms. Tammy Tamayo from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila, and Atty. Jer Samson representing the Office of the Vice Mayor of the City of Manila for their support.
