The University ignited the spirit of triumph as it honored the outstanding achievements of its champion teams from UAAP 86 High School Games -- Girls Volleyball, Boys’ Athletics, and Boys’ Basketball -- in a bonfire lighting ceremony held at the SV Facade last September 15.

Office for Athletic Development Director Fr. Aldrin Suan, CM, in a speech to close out the ceremony, also extended his and the University’s heartfelt appreciation to the athletes, acknowledging their dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence.

"To our student athletes, thank you for pushing yourselves to your limits, beyond your limits, and for inspiring us. You have shown us what it means to strive for excellence and to never give up on your dreams," expressed Fr. Suan.

University President Fr. Danny Pilario CM, echoed these sentiments, recognizing not only the athletes but also the steadfast support of their parents. He lauded their collective pride, determination, and persistence, which served as the cornerstone of each team's success.

Girls’ Volleyball team captain and season MVP Shaina Nitura, 400-meter record-holder and Boys’ Athletics MVP Hussein Loraña, and Boys’ Basketball Mythical Five member Justine Garcia led the lighting of the bonfire, symbolizing the historic championships attained by the respective teams.

The Baby Falcon tracksters kicked off the golden showcase after flexing their dominance in the Boys’ Athletics event, bannering a back-to-back championship by amassing a haul of 21 gold, 10 silver, and six bronze medals in November 2023.

The Baby Falcons, meanwhile, shattered a 31-year title drought in the Boys’ Basketball Tournament by triumphing over the NU-Nazareth School Bullpups in a hard-fought do-or-die match last February 11.

The next day, the Baby Lady Falcons also made history by completing a flawless 14-0 sweep and clinching their maiden championship in the Girls’ Volleyball Tournament against NU-Nazareth last February 12.

Students, faculty members, administrators and alumni were present as one community in the event, celebrating with the sponsors and parents for the teams’ feat as the bonfire ceremony, a time-honored tradition at Adamson University, served as vibrant celebration of athletic excellence and camaraderie, reminiscent of the last bonfire party held in 2017 to celebrate the Adamson Pep Squad’s Season 80 Championship.
