The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) is poised to ignite excitement as the second semester sports season commences with the highly anticipated collegiate volleyball tournament.

Festivities, though, have commenced bannered by the tournament’s opening press conference held February 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Adamson was well-featured during the event being represented by women’s assistant coach Shiela “Bang” Pineda and men’s head coach George Pascua, along with Falcons’ Leo Coguimbal and Jude Aguilar, and Lucille Almonte and Karen Verdeflor.

Both AdU teams bagged championships in their respective non-UAAP campaigns as the men’s team were hailed as Philippine University Games titlists, while the Lady Falcons ruled the Akari Cup where they shocked pro team Akari Superchargers for the championship.

However, amid the volleyball fanfare, the UAAP also announced a significant change for Adamson – a new correspondent who will report for the Women’s Volleyball team in.

Ella Regudo, a fourth-year communication student, will take the reins from Janna Ehido who reported for San Marcelino since UAAP 85.

When asked what she was feeling about her feat, Regudo revealed she was excited and pressured. She, however, was confident that she could represent the University well and adapt with the help of her fellow correspondents.

The UAAP has also announced that competitions are set to begin this February 17, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, with games slated for every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, featuring two men's and two women's matches each day. Action kicks off at 10a.m. for men's games and 2p.m. for women's matches.

The games will be broadcasted on One Sports and UAAP Varsity Channel and streamed via the Pilipinas Live application.

The second semester of the league also features collegiate football, baseball, softball, fencing, tennis, 3x3 basketball, exhibition events in esports, and a demonstration event for junior high school basketball.
