Adamson continues to bask in the glow of victory at the FilOil EcoOil Centre, this time with the Lady Baby Falcons soaring to their first-ever UAAP High School Girls' Volleyball title.
The feat also completed a 14-game season sweep for the San Marcelino squad after a dominant display against defending champions NU-Nazareth School in the evening of February 13, via a 25-18, 25-18, 28-26 sweep.
The breakthrough title comes on the heels of Adamson's 31-year drought-ending victory in Boys' Basketball, completing a remarkable double-gold finish for the school.
"I'm really thankful sa Lord kung anong ginawa niya sa buhay namin. Hindi kami makakating rito kung hindi dahil sa Kanya," said newly minted champion head coach JP Yude as he reflected on his team's journey to glory.
"In every challenge and in every trial na dumating sa team na 'to, may iba [na] hindi aakalain na ganun 'yung mangyayari sa team, pero thankful kami na nag-grow 'yung mga bata," he furthered, praising his team’s resolve throughout the season.
Though dominant in the first two s two sets, the Baby Lady Falcons had to fend off one last challenge from NUNS
With the scores going back-and-forth, Season 86 best setter Fhei Sagaysay sent the Baby Lady Falcons to championship point followed by a title-clinching service ace from Abby Segui.
The win also saw Nitura, Sagaysay, MG del Moral and Carpizo play their final games for the Baby Falcons, which resulted in an emotional scene as the new champions prayed together on the court.
"Wala man kami next year, may ipi-face na bagong challenge sa inyo si Lord na you have to step up on your own without the people who helped you before. You must step out of your comfort zone para mag-bloom kayo at lumabas kayo lalo," the two-time Best Outside Hitter Nitura, told her teammates as they begin their respective journey anew.
