The University's Girls' Volleyball team once again flexed their dominance as they clinched their second consecutive UAAP Finals appearance with a commanding 25-17, 25-17, 25-17 straight-set victory over Far Eastern University-Diliman (FEU-D), January 28, at the Adamson University Gym.
With the victory, the Baby Falcons completed a perfect 12-match elimination round sweep, granting them direct entry to the best-of-three championship series.
Adamson only needed 68 minutes to down FEU-D, overcoming a slow start and eventually executing their game plan en route to another lopsided win.
Expressing gratitude for the win, Adamson's head coach, JP Yude, acknowledged the team's stellar performance throughout the elimination round.
The current Lady Falcons head coach also lauded the importance of rest and preparation as he and his team begin their build-up for the Finals series against the winner of the stepladder series between National University Nazareth School, FEU and University of Santo Tomas.
The third set saw a tightly contested battle with both teams keeping the margin within three points. However, the Lady Baby Falcons seized control with a decisive 4-1 run, prompting FEU-D to call a timeout at 13-8.
Adamson then continued to widen the gap through a series of well-executed plays, including errors from the Lady Baby Tamaraws, a drop ball from Fhei Sagaysay, and a crucial service ace from skipper Shaina Nitura.
A block for MG Del Moral pushed Adamson to match point, before FEU uncorked a last gasp to steal the set.
The girls in blue and white, though, maintained their composure and wrapped up the game, 25-17 after an attack from Nitura.
The Baby Lady Falcons return to the finals for the second straight year, hoping for a different result from last season.
Adamson will enjoy a rather long break before they begin their three-game finals series as two games are needed to be played to know their foes.
