The Baby Falcons conducted another masterclass en route to clinching the first twice-to-beat advantage of the UAAP 86 Boys’ Basketball tournament Final Four.
Adamson solidified their place as the league’s top-seed and finals favorites as they thrashed De La Salle-Zobel, 74-59, January 21 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
The boys from San Marcelino, who currently holds a record of 11-1, again, showcased their team play, with no player reaching 15 points.
Returning skipper Justine Garcia is slowly returning to his old form, posting 14 points, six assists, five rebounds, and five steals. The Pampanga native also registered a whopping +40 in the game’s plus-minus department.
His fellow Kapampangan, JC Bonzalida, also scored 14 markers while securing 13 boards.
DLSZ tried to mount comebacks in the third canto but crucial plays from Garcia and Bonzalida paced the team to rebuild their lead in the final frame.
Adamson will try to continue their momentum as they face University of the Philippines Integrated School this January 24 at the same venue.
