The University's Baby Lady Falcons moved a win away from sweeping the elimination round and securing a direct ticket to the finals in the UAAP Season 86 High School Girls’ Volleyball Tournament as they asserted their might against the University of the Philippines Integrated School, 25-6, 25-12, 25-11, last January 20 at the Adamson University Gym in San Marcelino.
With the win, Adamson maintained their unblemished record of 11-0, and solidified their position at the top of the league standings.
In the post-game interview, Coach JP Yude emphasized the team's commitment to giving their best in every match, regardless of the opponent, instilling a mindset of relentless effort both in training and on the court.
Despite an initial 4-3 deficit in the third set, the Baby Lady Falcons scored six consecutive points highlighted by Shaina Nitura's four kills and Abby Segui's two service aces.
Sam Cantada then uncorked an off-the-block kill to extend the San Marcelino-based team’s lead to double digits.
JP Yude’s wards then limited the Fighting Maroons to four points before Kirsten Carpizo’s attack sealed the match for Adamson.
Adamson will try to soar straight to the league’s best-of-three finals with a victory over Far Eastern University-Diliman this January 28 at the same venue.
