It was another gut-wrenching affair the for the Baby Lady Falcons as they escape defending titlists National University-Nazareth School (NUNS), 25-22, 20-25, 15-25, 25-17, 15-13, last January 13 at the AdU Gym in San Marcelino.

With the win, the San Marcelino-based team swept their games against NUNS and clinched the first ticket to the UAAP 86 Girls' Volleyball tournament Final Four.

Adamson head coach JP Yude lauded his team for the winning mentality, which they showed this season in their two victories over their UAAP 85 finals foes.

The Baby Lady Falcons started off on the wrong foot, dropping to a 1-5 disadvantage to begin the first set. A timeout from Yude, though, was able to pace the team and ignite a 5-0 spurt to steal the lead, 6-5, highlighted by two service aces from MG del Moral.

Despite going toe-to-toe with the Lady Bullpups in scoring the whole game, the Lady Baby Falcons managed to extend their lead to four points in the final frame, only for NU to capitalize on their opponent's errors to narrow the gap to a single point.

A soft touch from skipper Shaina Nitura then set Adamson at match point, and although Sam Cantada's service error momentarily kept the match alive, Nitura sealed the victory with a decisive attack, closing the set at 15-13.

The Baby Lady Falcons will try to continue their dominant run this January 18 as they face Ateneo de Manila University at the same venue.
