The Lady Baby Falcons showed why they are one of the favorites in the UAAP 86 Girls’ Volleyball Tournament as they staged a 28-26, 17-25, 22-25, 25-14, 15-12 come-from-behind victory over their foes in last season’s finals matchup and reigning titlists National University - Nazareth School, December 17 at the Adamson University Gymnasium in Manila.

The win led Adamson to a sweep of the first round of competition after posting their sixth consecutive victory.

Facing a challenging 1-2 set deficit, Adamson rallied behind the stellar performance of team captain, Shaina Nitura, who showcased her exceptional skills on both ends of the court in the decisive fifth set.

Nitura's crucial back-row kills propelled the Lady Baby Falcons to an 11-8 advantage, setting the stage for wing spikers Samantha Cantada and Abegail Segui to secure the final points and clinch the victory on their home turf.

Head coach JP Yude credited the team's mindset and chemistry for their performance throughout the season, emphasizing the importance of taking each game one at a time and respecting every opponent they face.

The former Falcon spiker also highlighted the strong bond within the team, both among the players and the coaching staff, as a key factor in their success and expressed satisfaction with the team's collective effort to continuously improve their play.
