Adamson’s Technology Transfer Office (AdUTX), in partnership with the Board of Investments, hosted the second leg of Leap to Drift, a three-part webinar series focused on discussing trends and ongoing affairs “that can make or break an industry,” November 28.
The activity was held online via the Zoom platform and highlighted the Healthcare and Biobased industries.
Mr. Joshua Tan, Product Design and Development Manager at polymer design and development company First in Colours Inc., and former faculty member at the University’s Chemistry Department, kicked off the plenary with a discussion on bio-based economies in the Philippines.
The discussion pointed to the potential of using biobased materials as a possible response for the problem of plastic waste, highlighting sustainability and versatility of the said resources as biobased plastic.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jabez Dingken Setters, Paralegal for Shared Services at health laboratory operations and services optimization company, Dashlabs.ai, shared his ideas regarding healthcare trends, namely in telehealth and telemedicine.
He presented the difference between the manual process of laboratories and telemedicine and emphasized the advantages of the latter. Setters also underscored the importance of a digitized system, including medical records.
Participants were also given a chance to ask questions to the speakers.
