Falcon tracksters begin S86 with golds in triple jump, running

Adamson’s Falcon paddlers continue climbing UAAP’s Table Tennis ladder, this time finishing as silver medalists in the boys’ category and bronze medalists in the men’s category in the UAAP 86 Table Tennis Tournament which held its final season competition day at the Amoranto Sports Complex Arena in Quezon City.
The Baby Falcon paddlers ended up ranked second in the elimination rounds, only registering defeats against their eventual conquerors and tournament champs, University of Santo Tomas.
Anton Bayona and Jhiven Clamucha secured both ties for UST with the second one coming off a huge 11-7, 11-9, 11-4 sweep of Leighnard Bartolo and Sean Arvin Garcia, completing the 14-tie romp of the season.
Season MVP Jebb Datahan set up the heroics from Bayona and Clamucha, taking the second singles rubber against Sean Irvin Garcia in three games, 13-11, 11-9, 11-5.
The Falcon paddlers, meanwhile, crashed out of championship contention after falling to finalists Ateneo de Manila University.
Adamson initially took the lead with Jed Villaviray cruising past Andrew Uy 12-10, 11-6, 11-4. However, Ateneo eventually won the next three matches, with Wrency Abad and Francis De Asis grabbing the lone doubles rubber 11-6, 9-11, 11-2, 11-3, over Jhon Balucos and Aldrean Gacho to set up Andre Garcia's heroics.
The Ateneo rookie secured the victory against Amiel Aroma in a see-saw battle that went five games, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-4, in the third singles match.
Adamson earlier swept the De La Salle Green Paddlers 3-0 to set up the showdown with the Blue Eagles. Balucos and Gacho completed the rout with a 16-14, 5-11, 5-11, 11-7, 12-10 conquest of Green Paddlers LJ Crisostomo and Marwin Eder.
