The Adamsonian community opened the holiday season earlier than others, with the Christmas Tree and Belen Lighting Ceremonies being held in the evening of November 17 at the Saint Vincent Grounds.

University President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM revealed that the reason behind the early festivities was to allow students to enjoy the Christmas spirit longer before going to the semestral break that coincides with the yuletide season.

Meanwhile, in his opening remarks, the Adamson University Alumni Association Inc. (AUAAI) President Engr. Ebrahim Nuno highlighted the Vincentian tradition of charity, reminding his fellow klasmeyts to be aware of everyone’s needs and the challenges they are facing.

“Let this be a testament of our love and unity that we foster as Adamsonians,” he said.

AUAAI sponsored this year’s Christmas Tree and Belen, with Ar. Ann Paraon leading the team who design and constructed the 14-foot structure smack at the center of the SV Façade.

The Ina ng Lupang Pangako Choir composed of children from the Payatas mission area of the Congregation of the Mission also delivered a heartwarming renditions of Christmas carols.

Alumni and members of the community pledged support for the group who will be leaving for Singapore for a chorale competition.
