The Lady Falcons failed to cause an upset against reigning champions and current top-seed National University, losing 61-76 to the Lady Bulldogs in their penultimate game in the UAAP 86 Women’s Basketball Tournament held November 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Adamson tried to match the prowess of NU who are currently on a 10-game winning streak but fell short in the third quarter as the Jhocson-based squad launched a scoring barrage in the third frame to push their lead to 18 at 39-57. The Lady Falcons were only down by five in the end of the first half.

NU then never looked back and even erected their biggest margin at 51-70 with less than five minutes left in the game.

The Lady Bulldogs then coasted towards the final buzzer. Gypsy Canuto, Clarin, and Marylene Solis combined to give NU its biggest lead at 70-51 with 4:32 remaining in the contest.

Adamson suffered their third straight defeat, falling to a 3-10 win-loss card which tied them with FEU at sixth to seventh place.

Cheska Apag and Victoria Adeshina scored 15 points apiece to lead Adamson, while Elaine Etang contributed 10 markers.

The Lady Falcons will look to end their campaign on a high note against fellow also-ran Far Eastern University this November 19 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
