Davies Paints-Adamson continued to roll in Pool C of the Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference, recovering from a third-set setback to defeat Santa Rosa City Lions, 25-15,25-16, 16-25, 25-21, November 5, at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Soaring Falcons jumped their foes in the first two sets of the game before dropping a surprising 16-25 third set to the Lions.

With the score at 20-19, Adamson middle blocker Mark Coguimbal scored an emphatic rejection on Gadpray Aresgado en route to a 3-0 run to push their lead to 23-19.

An off-the-block hit from Dan Gutierrez sealed the game from the San Marcelino-based squad, improving their record to 2-0, which tied the Cignal HD Spikers at the top of their group.

Falcons’ head coach George Pascua saw the games in the league as a way to improve his boys’ maturity, while also developing their skills and a winning attitude.
John Gay led the scoring for Adamson after posting 13 points off 11 attacks and two blocks while Francis Casas logged 11 markers from 10 attacks and one block.
Jude Aguilar and Marc Paulino added 10 points while Coguimbal had five blocks to finish with nine markers.
Adamson looks to tighten its spot for the playoff as it goes against St. Gerard Construction-Benilde this November 12.
