The Lady Falcons are one win away from securing a twice-to-beat advantage in the Shakey’s Super League (SSL) playoffs after posting a 25-14, 19-25, 25-23, 25-16 victory over University of the East, October 21, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

With the win, Adamson improved their standing in Pool F with a 4-1 slate, before facing off against College of Saint Benilde in their final pool match.

AA Adolfo and Ishie Lalongisip carried the load early for the San Marcelino-based squad, with the team also taking advantage of their foes’ errors. A quick attack from Lorene Toring bagged the first set for Adamson, 25-14.

The Lady Falcons, though, suffered a setback on the second set as Casey Dongallo of UE just dropped attack after attack, leading her team to a 19-25 set. The result of third set, meanwhile, was made after a 23-23 deadlock broken by consecutive hits from Adamson’s Jen Villegas.

The JP Yude-coached team then asserted their will in the fourth frame, dominating UE in both defense and offense.

Adamson faces CSB this October 22 at the same venue.
