An “institutional artist” has, once again, come home to exhibit his works in front of the community he has served for years.
The Cultural Affairs Office officially launched a showcase of the works of Mr. Raul Agner at the University Gallery last October 12.
Mr. Agner was with Adamson for 17 years, occupying posts as University Archivist, Museum Curator and Director of the Institutional Development and External Affairs Office.
“Into the Core is my way of getting into the context of my art making [and] into the heart of my personal vision as an artist, “he explained, also furthering that he also sees his works as his way to show societal issues in the Philippines and the reality that every normal people face in their everyday life.
“I [also] have some personal musings and finally some paints that are lighthearted in nature.”
University President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM, meanwhile, recalled stories of Mr. Agner during their days in the seminary, while giving his own take of how the latter began his craft and his inspiration.

“Out of those bad experiences that Raul has gone through, he is giving us snippets of his impressions of the life around him,” he said, also admitting that he preferred to make his supposed response for Mr. Agner’s exhibit more of an invitation.
The said exhibit is free of charge and will be open to the Adamsonian community until November 10.
