The University’s SV Façade once again lit up in blue as a show of support to the Philippine Mental Health Association’s “LIght Up Blue for Mental Health” movement, October 11.

This year’s theme for the said advocacy focuses on mental health as a universal human right.

Fr. Rock Joseph Enriquez, CM, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered an inspirational message focused on the value of mental health among students, especially in an academic institution like Adamson.

“Here at Adamson U, we care about our mental health because we know if we care about our mental health, we can cope with life’s pressures, especially with academic concerns. When we are in our best shape of our well-being, we can learn inspiringly, work well and contribute to the good of our community and our society,” he said.

“The awareness of taking care of our mental health is a sign that we care about everyone.”

Meanwhile, Guidance Counseling, Placement, and Testing Services Director Dr. Celso V. Mangaoil, Jr. reminded the participants of the significance of the color blue in mental health.

“In Psychology, [blue] symbolizes serenity, calmness, and importance in finding inner peace. So, embracing blue reminds us to prioritize self-care,” he said.

A short mini concert featuring homegrown talents and performance organizations was held after the lighting ceremonies.
