Despite promising performances from their two backcourt cogs, the Lady Falcons fell to Ateneo de Manila University, 59-69, in the UAAP 86 Women's Basketball Tournament held October 8 at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
The backcourt of the Ryan Monteclaro-coached team, though, proved that they can stand to –to-toe with the competition in the UAAP.
Kim Limbago led the Lady Falcons with 16 points and four rebounds, while Cris Padilla tallied 11 points and five assists. The two court generals shared the load in stabilizing the Lady Falcons’ offense against a defense anchored on Gilas Pilipinas Womens’ standout Kacey Dela Rosa.
UAAP 85 Mythical Five member Victoria Adeshina, meanwhile, posted seven markers and seven caroms, while Rose Ann Dampios had six points, five rebounds, and four steals.
Dampios, Padila and Adeshina tried to mount one last run in the final canto but only managed to cut the Ateneo lead to 10, 45-55. The Lady Falcons’ starters were outscored 27-59.
Adamson will try to soar for their first win against De La Salle University this October 11 at the AdU Gym.
