Adamson’s dribblers just continue developing, and at the same time piling up trophies.
The Soaring Falcons bagged the championship of the under-26 category of the Macrohon Open Invitational Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament, escaping Immaculada Concepcion College in a thriller, 102-101, September 20 in Macrohon, Southern Leyte.
It was a toe-to-toe affair between the San Marcelino crew and the current National Capital Region Athletic Association champions, but one key stop from the Falcons ultimately gave them the victory.
ICC was leading, 99-101, with less than a minute left when former Baby Falcon Kurt Mepana launched a booming triple from the left corner, which made the venue erupt and gave the boys in blue a one-point lead, 102-101.
The Blue Hawks were able to launch a desperation three-point attempt that only grazed the rim before ending up in the hands of a Soaring Falcon.
Newest Falcon AJ Fransman quickly showed why he was a sought-after recruit in the collegiate scene after being hailed as the tournament Most Valuable Player, while second year guard Ray Allen Torres was chosen as Ka-DAYO Performance MVP.
Adamson, on the way to the title, also secured victories against ICC and Southwestern University, and teams bannering Metro Ormoc Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (OCCCI) and Maasin City.
