The University sent off 1807 new graduates in the 85th Commencement Exercises held last July 21 at the Philippine International Convention Center.

Although ceremonies were held in two sessions, the speakers of both batches agreed with the points they told AdU’s new alumni, highlighting the role of resolve and gratitude as they embark to another page of their life.

“History is not about the past but the present – it is what you’re doing right now. You walk your own life, your own path... every person, every person, every tear you shed defines who you are,” Engr. Doris Trinidad, the speaker for the morning session said.

“In every decision, expect the worst but hope for the best...make most of the opportunities given to you …and get out of the box. Wish not to make a living, but a difference,” she furthered.

Engr. Trinidad is the President and General Manager of the Philippine Environmental and Technological Systems and Services, Inc.

Meanwhile, afternoon session speaker Atty. Jewel Bulos recalled her experiences with the University, and how her upbringing led her to current stature in the academe and as an individual.

Atty. Bulos currently holds the post of Vice President for Administration at the University of Makati.

“Falcons devote themselves to one partner for life. You are now part of the alumni community. Whether you like it or not, nakatatak na ang pagiging Soaring Falcon sa inyo habangbuhay, [so, I encourage you] to give back to Adamson and help the community by sharing our expertise and professional experiences,” she quipped.

“Let us give back to our Alma mater by initiating undertakings and actively participating in different alumni activity as noble sons and daughters, as we wave the blue and white banners as high as we can.”

Fr. Nelson Bisco, CM, new Director of the Campus Ministry Office, presided over the morning session mass, while Fr. Eugenio Navida, CM, Parish Administrator and Superior of the Vincentian Fathers in Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Shrine, Sucat, Muntinlupa led the afternoon session.

Those in the morning batch include the Colleges of Law, Pharmacy, Business Administration and Science, while the Colleges of Architecture, Engineering, Education and Liberal Arts, Nursing and Graduate School rounded the afternoon batch.
